…And Our English Language School Got to Meet Them!
Hello, English language learners,
We’re writing this blog with some excitement as Blue Noun English Language School just managed to unite our English learning guest and Harry Potter superfan Esla with three of the actors from the film franchise.
Read our blog to find out how it all came about.

Visit Perth in Scotland for some Magic!
Scottish weather did its thing, quite spectacularly, over a two-day Harry Potter themed light festival in Perth.

A Dream Come True
We brought language learner Elsa (Sweden) to the event as she is a huge Harry Potter fan.
She’s previously toured the Warner Bros. studio near London and seen the sets (and even has some Dobby socks – shhh!), but had never before had the chance to meet one of the stars of the movie franchise.

Q & A for Movie Stars
The Q & A Session was brilliant.
The rain poured down to the extent that the stage lights flickered (was Peeves there too?), but there was no end of eager questions being asked from all age groups.

So Who Pinched What?
On this subject, as a complete outsider to the industry, I was fascinated by how these young actors had been selected – their personalities seemed to fit their roles.
A question – had they ever pinched anything off the set?
Percy Weasly – no! (but he did have a story about someone else taking a pair Emma Watson‘s plain grey socks).
Crabbe and Goyle, umm… yes… there’s quite a list.
A Total Pro
Chris Rankin kept the question and answer session going smoothly, occasionally corralling the more boisterous, but good-humoured pair back on track (and certainly taking it more seriously).

Dragonfly Creative Arts
Both members of Dragonfly Creative Arts took time to explain their products, and (refreshingly) let kids enjoy seeing them too, John (in a steampunk hat) and Aliza (in adorable elf ears) also got talking about their own wedding: Aliza proposed to John with a message in a bottle left on a beach, and yes, for one of their weddings (the woodland one) she did wear her elf ears.
Love your style! Do check out their website if you have to buy a gift for, ‘the person who has everything’.

We enjoyed this projection on the underside of a bridge too. Not sure who it’s by, so if you do, let us know and we’ll add a credit.

A quick note from the author
We began the Blue Noun blog back in 2019, when we called ourselves a ‘language school’ (we now call ourselves a language hub) and we were building up our business completely from scratch.
Our first few months were spent making friends in the community, researching homestay hosts for our language guests and finding out about all the good local places and activities to take our language learning guests.
In 2021 we moved the Blue Noun website to a different platform. We had the option of deleting these old blogs – they are very different form our current, more pedagogic style of posting, but I think they are quite charming to see how our young business grew, turning from a language school run by an artist – into a language hub which really began to focus on coaching artists in English by immersing them in creative environments.
