Over-60s are welcome on all Blue Noun holidays.
These dedicated dates are simply for travellers who prefer to share the experience with people of a similar age.
As is the Blue Noun way, you won’t come to sit in a classroom or follow a fixed programme.
You’ll experience English through conversation, exploration, and daily life in Scotland — with space to be fully yourself while you use the language.
Experience English 60+ is a variation of our main Experience English holiday.
The way we explore Scotland, use English and shape the week is the same; these dates simply give you the option of sharing the experience with people of a similar age.

2027 Dates & Availability
Experience English 60+ runs Friday to Friday.
For 2027, you can join us on:
- 23 April — one or two weeks
- 30 April — one week
- 14 May — one or two weeks
Your holiday begins at 5pm on Friday and finishes at 12 noon the following Friday.
Want to stay for two weeks?
Book two consecutive weeks and we’ll include an overnight stay away between them.We can use this to travel a little further together, exploring somewhere that doesn’t fit comfortably into a normal day trip. Or, if you’d prefer some independent time between the two weeks, you could use the opportunity to spend time in one of Scotland’s cities.

Adults over 60 are welcome on all Experience English holidays. These dates are simply reserved for guests who prefer a 60+ group.
A real-world English holiday focused on conversation, shared experience, and exploring Scotland.
English support is woven through everything we do — exploring places, meeting people, creative experiences, food, nature, travel and time spent together — not separated into classroom lessons.
Sometimes an experience leads us back to the Hub for an English skills workshop. Sometimes the useful language appears in the middle of a conversation. We work with the English you actually need and use.
With a maximum of three guests, days can flex. We can follow an unexpected opportunity, spend longer somewhere interesting, or split the group when interests or pace differ.

2027 Experience English holiday: £1,950 per person, per week, plus local homestay accommodation at £25 per person, per night.
Accommodation
You’ll have your own private bedroom with one of our carefully selected homestay hosts in Crieff. Your homestay is part of the Experience English experience, extending your connection with everyday Scottish life beyond the time we spend together.

Blue Noun is based in Crieff, a small Highland town surrounded by the landscapes and communities of Perthshire.
This is a region known for its extraordinary trees and walking country, outdoor recreation, food, agriculture, arts and crafts, historic places and beautiful hotels and estates embedded in nature.
We don’t just look at Scotland. We get curious about it.
An Experience English week might lead us into conversations about how land is farmed, how nature is being conserved (and where it isn’t), which traditional skills are surviving, how artists and makers sustain a practice in rural Scotland, or how the stories of Scottish history are being told today.
These aren’t lectures. Places, people and experiences give us something worth being curious about — and therefore something worth talking about in English.

The Story of this Holiday
At the time, I hadn’t planned to separate holidays by age.
Over-60s have always been welcome on all Blue Noun holidays — and they still are.
But she explained that she didn’t want to feel like the oldest person in a group of younger travellers.
When she arrived, she danced me under the table at ceilidhs and powered up mountains beside me. She was fit, strong, independent.
What she wanted wasn’t something easier or slower.
She wanted to feel comfortable while learning — without also having to adapt to a younger group’s culture, humour, or expectations.
Using English already means stepping outside what is familiar. Trying to fit into two unfamiliar cultures at once can pull focus away from what matters.
This holiday exists to remove that extra layer.
It offers the same real-world English experience, simply shared in a peer group — so attention can stay where it belongs: discovering who you are as an English speaker, connecting with people, and experiencing Scotland fully.
