There have been a few firsts:
→ Our first family holidays – and they went spectacularly.
→ Our first 3rd time returnee (!): 3 years in a row!

On a more personal note, it’s also felt like the first time I’ve not had to spend time convincing people that they don’t need more English lessons.

It’s a night of DJs, installations, screenings, food, drink, and art — headlined by Dundee’s own internationally acclaimed KILIMANJARO.
After a week of mindful autumn walks, good food, and joyful English practice, we’ll finish the season together on the dance floor.

About The Art
The V&A Dundee is one of my favourite galleries in Scotland. It’s a striking piece of architecture on the River Tay (we take the architecture tour on certain holidays).
It’s known as ‘Scotland’s design museum’: part gallery, part creative hub, and always interesting.
Their current exhibition, Garden Futures, explores how designers and artists are reimagining gardens — not just as places of beauty, but as powerful spaces of creativity, care, and connection with nature.
It’s a perfect fit for our autumn season: slowing down, noticing details, and exploring how design, art, and language can help us connect more deeply to the seasons around us.

KILIMANJARO
Dundee’s own, back on home soil. KILIMANJARO’s high-energy, genre-bending sets have taken him to Glastonbury, Coachella and beyond — but this Halloween, he’s coming home to light up the V&A Dundee. Expect rhythm, colour and pure celebration.
Nightwave
Born in Slovenia and now a key figure in Glasgow’s club scene, Nightwave brings fierce energy and social consciousness to the decks. Her sets are bold, joyful and full of movement — and she’s known for championing women and girls in electronic music.
VAN DAMN
Arbroath’s Jordan Wyness — aka VAN DAMN — is a DJ, producer and streamer whose playful, crowd-pleasing style has shared stages with Peggy Gou and Groove Armada. Expect big sounds, big fun, and the best of Scottish dance culture.
Brian d’Souza (Auntie Flo)
Auntie Flo closes the loop between sound, nature and spirit. A DJ and sound artist with roots in Goa and Kenya, Brian creates immersive soundscapes that connect club culture to the natural world
Garden Futures
About Garden Futures
The Garden Futures: Designing with Nature exhibition at V&A Dundee is a collision of nature, design and imagination. It asks: what if gardens weren’t just for beauty, but for creativity, care, social change, and even survival? As you walk through the space, you’ll see visions from Piet Oudolf, Derek Jarman, Roberto Burle Marx and Arabella Lennox-Boyd.
In Dundee, the exhibition has been adapted to include local voices: Little Sparta (Ian Hamilton Finlay’s garden work). It also features striking design experiments — think vertical forests (a nod to Stefano Boeri), living wall concepts from the Eden Project, and immersive installations like Céline Baumann’s Parliament of Plants.
