Try Golf on Your Language Holiday in Scotland

In this blog post, I’m sharing photos from our recent trip to Crieff Golf Club, where we explored golf experiences available for our English conversation guests.

You might be surprised to learn that golf at Crieff Golf Club is not just for members.

Blue Noun’s English guests are invited.

In fact, anyone can try golf.

Golf is a fabulous way to explore Scotland and be outdoors in fantastic scenery, it’s worth giving it a shot!

A Transformational Holiday

Here at Blue Noun, we offer time to be you in English. We slow down and pause to taste lettuce hand-picked that morning or visit the river that supplies our local distillery (trust me, walking the river from loch to distillery makes the whisky tasting so much better).

We add nature, woodland saunas, rivers and local produce to great conversations and get you talking – naturally.

Our outdoor activities will help you feel good and healthy in English.

Even if you don’t think of yourself as a golfer, each of our holidays offers you 1000 micro-moments of you being you, in English, and that’s a powerful thing.

Becoming someone different is how your new language will stick!

When your experience is memorable,
Your English is memorable.

How Golf Can Help Your English

Playing golf feels good.

It gets you moving outdoors, breathing fresh air, and soaking up the calm beauty of the landscape.

Golf is a gentle exercise with a focus, helping you to relax while staying active.

It’s also a game of patience and presence, giving you a refreshing mental break from the stress of English.

Like our language holidays – there’s no rush, no pressure – just space to think, move, connect and be.

Relax in Perthsire, with Golf

Here in Perthshire, golf is more than a game: it’s a calm, sociable way to spend time outdoors, chat with locals, and take in some beautiful scenery.

For English learners, it’s also the perfect opportunity to use real English in a relaxed, friendly setting.

Whether you’re discussing the score, asking for tips, or simply sharing a laugh on the green, golf creates natural chances to practise speaking without pressure.

It’s slow-paced, beginner-friendly, and very, very Scottish. Ideal for learners who want to make memories and boost confidence while enjoying the landscape.

Why Not Try Golf as an English Immersion Activity?

Crieff Golf Club has clubs and equipment to borrow.

Already golf mad?

Be sure to speak to us when you are booking and we can advise you around extending your stay in Scotland to fit in a bit of golf at the beginning or end of your English language holiday (most of our homestay hosts are really flexible about this).
