Family Language Immersion in Scotland

Blue Noun is now offering family English language holidays here in Scotland.

This video shares what that looks like.

(It looks like you being able to spend your holiday with your kids AND learning English).

There’s no big groups. Just you and your family.

We use my car to go to castles, to go to beaches and to do things that children want to do.

And you get to speak about subjects that you care about.

If that’s work-related, that’s fine too, we can do coaching around that.

Expect fluency-building English conversation experiences, including meeting people and exploring the best of outdoor Scotland.

It’s not a classroom, it’s an adventure, and you are all invited!

Family Language Immersion in Scotland Transcript

Hiya, it’s Ruth here,

I just wanted to go quickly into your feed and talk to you about our holidays.

Because Blue Noun is now offering family holidays.

Let me explain what that looks like.

It looks like you being able to spend time in English with your kids.

It’s that simple.

It’s the same as exploring Scotland in the ways that suit you.

There’s no big groups. If it’s a family holiday, it’s you and your family.

And we use my car to go to castles, to go to beaches—to do things that children want to do so they get a great holiday. And whilst they are getting their great holiday, they are acquiring some of the comfort of being surrounded by English, which normalises it.

It turns it into something that feels normal to them,

which is a massive win in terms of language acquisition.

And you get to speak about subjects that you care about. If that’s work-related, that’s fine too, we can do some coaching around that.

But mostly, it is general English conversation experiences, meeting people, exploring Scotland, and having live English coaching with me. Because I’m with you, it’s that simple. You spend your holiday with your family, and I’m there to help—making sure conversation flows, correcting any errors, and guiding you into feeling like you belong in English. Like you belong. This is something that feels good for you,

which is the most important thing.

Because you then take your English and use it for professional contexts. That’s how it works. Because we’ve taken the stress out of English.

Some people have sleepless nights before they show up in English.

They think, “Oh my God, I’ve got to speak English in front of people.”

Lose that feeling by going on holiday.

Turn learning English from something you hate or fear or feel anxiety about into something you can do. Something you feel good using—and communicate that passion, that skill, that confidence to your children. And best of all, you don’t have to spend time away from your children to do it, because you’re learning as a group.

We’ve called this holiday “Bring the Squirrels,” and here’s how it works.

You have a private flat in Crieff to use so you are together with your family. You come to Blue Noun for meals. We hang out at Blue Noun and meet friends. We have social events. (Hiya, thanks for joining!)

It’s all about quality time, relaxing time that makes your English feel great.

You don’t have to sacrifice a holiday to get better at English.

You get to have a holiday and get better at English and bring the kids.

In our usual holidays, we work with three adults at a time.

So we are changing that format from three adults to your family unit. That’s all. So there’s no crossover between a regular holiday and a kids’ holiday.

So if you are coming as a family, you need to book quite soon so that we can close that week and just have it for you—so it’s your time.

Booking starts by having a Zoom with me, and we talk a little about your family and a lot about how you feel about English, what you hope to achieve in your holiday.

If we are a good match, we start talking about where you want to go and what you want to do.

If your kids are really athletic and energetic, we can climb mountains.

If your kids are obsessed with animals, we go to the local wildlife parks.

We shape your holiday around you—around what a good holiday looks like for you, and around what your English needs are and what your family needs are.

We work them out together, then create an amazing time exploring Scotland and improving in English.

If this sounds like something you and your family would like to do, then we do need to start looking at booking—because it will book up.

Thanks for listening, and speak to you soon.

Bye!
