Who to Contact
Blue Noun is coordinated by Ruth Pringle, an ESL (English as a Second Language) coach for international adults.
Ruth has a background in art and art history. She helps differently from other language schools or teachers, tending to attract people with class-learned English skills, seeking conversation practice and authentic language experiences.
The best way to reach us is through the WhatsApp button on this page, by email (ruth@bluenoun.co.uk) or on any of the social media platforms below.
An Alternative Language School
Located in Crieff, Perthshire, Blue Noun Language Hub welcomes English learners from around the world for bespoke, culture-led English immersion holidays.
As an artist-run, non-traditional language school, we offer mini-classes with a maximum of 3 learners per week. Our flexible course content is tailored to meet each learner’s professional English needs and personal interests and passions.
We are against the traditional classroom approach—especially when it’s called a holiday.
Instead, we provide a relaxed and comfortable learning environment, where English is taught through a unique blend of personal coaching and social experiences.
Our excursions explore the beauty of Perthshire and feature “Meet the Makers” experiences. These include visits to local artists’ studios and any kind of production unit.
We celebrate and promote the fact that Perth is the first city in the UK to become a UNESCO City of Crafts and Folk Art and share varied local food and drink producers and even micro-enterprises with strong or unusual social agendas.
We especially love showcasing workshops where traditional craft skills meet modern technology, and where the work of artists, craftspeople, and makers reflects the landscape and ecology of Perthshire.
This approach gives our English learners excellent opportunities to practice professional, presentational English while gaining a “behind the scenes” perspective on the region.
We don’t tell people what Scotland is.
Instead, we curate a menu of experiences that allows our clients to discover their own version of Scotland—and with it, their own identity as English language speakers.
