Hello, English language learners,

This week’s language school blog is all about whisky!

We are lucky to have The Glenturret as our neighbourhood distillery, and two of their brand ambassadors came to Blue Noun English Language School to guide our English language learning guests through a whisky tasting experience.

Our Whisky Guide

Last week we were lucky to have Jamie Morrison, Brand Ambassador for The Glenturret come to Blue Noun English Language School and guide us through a whisky tasting.

It’s a tough job our one, but someone has to do it!

The Glenturret Whisky Range

Jamie demonstrated whisky tasting techniques and showed off the three brands he had brought with him:

THE GLENTURRET TRIPPLE WOOD EDITION, which is matured within 3 wood types – (American Oak, Sherry Seasoned and European) (oaky, sweet and citrusy).

THE GLENTURRET SHERRY CASK EDITION, matured in European oak Sherry seasoned Casks (sweet, spicy, with hints of vanilla).

THE GLENTURRET PEATED EDITION, a combination of unseated style and a heavily peated spirit known as Ruadh Maor (sublimely smokey and sweet).

A quick note from the author

We began the Blue Noun blog back in 2019, when we called ourselves a ‘language school’ (we now call ourselves a language hub) and we were building up our business completely from scratch.

Our first few months were spent making friends in the community, researching homestay hosts for our language guests and finding out about all the good local places and activities to take our language learning guests.

In 2021 we moved the Blue Noun website to a different platform. We had the option of deleting these old blogs – they are very different form our current, more pedagogic style of posting, but I think they are quite charming to see how our young business grew, turning from a language school run by an artist – into a language hub which really began to focus on coaching artists in English by immersing them in creative environments.
