Real experiences create real English: memories your whole family will carry home.

You want to give your English some proper space.
Not squeezed into evenings or fitted around everything else.

But you also want summer to belong to your children.

Our Family English Language Holiday is for professionals who want English to grow through real experiences — with play-based English support for children and conversation-led coaching for adults unfolding side by side.

English support underpins the entire week.
A dedicated English coach works closely with your family, shaping days around the language, energy, and wellbeing needs of each family member — wherever your time together takes you.

Based in Perthshire, Scotland, with daily exploration of the surrounding landscape, local towns, and cultural spaces.

Days are spent mostly outdoors — walking through woodland, playing by rivers, visiting parks, using local swimming pools, and following the kinds of places children naturally enjoy.

Perthshire offers space, variety, and a slower pace that suits families, without feeling remote or restricted.

Why English Feels More Comfortable Here

This holiday starts from a simple belief: families deserve thoughtful, high-quality language experiences — not something adults have to do instead of family time.

English here is part of shared days.
It’s used while exploring, playing, talking, and being together — not treated as a task.

For children, that means joyful, lived encounters with English, supported through play and real situations.
For adults, it means space to develop confidence and expressiveness through meaningful conversation.

All parents want the best possible start for their children.
That often means giving them joyful language experiences early on — or supporting their school English through lived experiences that don’t feel like learning at all.

This holiday allows that to happen without separating children from the adults they want to be with.

Children are supported through play and real situations.
Adults are supported through conversation, reflection, and use.

Nothing is compromised. Everything is gained.

The Story of this Holiday

Our Bring the Squirrels holidays unfold at a family pace.

There’s time to throw stones into rivers.
Time to find the perfect stick.
Time to photograph flowers, bake together, or linger over small moments that don’t need organising.

Whether your child is happiest curled up with a book or needs hours of movement each day, the week adapts to how your family works best.

Alongside that, there are full days out — visiting castles, walking in the hills, and sharing experiences that feel like proper adventures when you’re a family.

Alongside that, there are full days out — visiting castles, walking in the hills, and sharing experiences that feel like proper adventures when you’re a family.

Depending on the week, that might include local festivals, Highland shows, or spending a day immersed in the energy of something like the Edinburgh Fringe — always shaped around what suits your family.

English is part of all of it.
Not set aside, not announced — just woven through the days as you move, talk, notice, and enjoy being together.

Booking Options

Family holidays are offered in three booking formats.
The difference relates to accommodation and group composition — the English support and overall experience remain the same.

    • Uses hosted homestay accommodation with a local host, where the parent and child stay together but have separate bedrooms

    A Simple Next Step

If you’re wondering whether this holiday will suit you, the next step is a short Zoom call.

It’s a chance for us to talk things through together — for you to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and get a feel for whether this way of working (and working with me) feels right for you.

The call also helps make sure expectations are aligned, so everyone arrives knowing what kind of week they’re stepping into.

These holidays aren’t designed to be booked on impulse — the Zoom call gives us both space to check that it’s a good match.

If this sounds like the kind of English experience you’ve been looking for, let’s talk it through.

What People Notice By The End Of The Week

By the end of our Bring the Squirrels English Experience Holiday, families notice how easily English has slipped quietly into everyday life.

    Adult conversation feels more relaxed.
Children use English naturally while playing, exploring, and talking about what they’ve seen.
Adults find themselves speaking more freely.

There’s a sense of having lived somewhere, rather than visited it — discovering places, traditions, and local life that don’t appear in guidebooks.

Many families say they’re surprised by how connected they feel:
    to each other,
    to the place,
and to English as something shared rather than worked on.

They leave with memories they’ll keep returning to — and a way of using English that feels part of who they are now, something they want to keep remembering and carrying forward together.
