English Language Holidays Exploring Scotland

Every season in Scotland has its own kind of beauty. Sincerely, we love it year-round.
Because our main offer is exploring outdoors, we run language-conversation holidays only from April to October. (If you would like to visit outside this season, contact us.)

In all of our holidays, you are not walking into a pre-written course; we build around your interests and language goals.

→ We also design around Responsible Tourism Goals and share what’s remarkable in Scotland during the week(s) you visit.

This page is to share with you time-specific events you may wish to build your holidays around.

We’ll also highlight what makes it a great time of year to visit.

We have LOADS of cultural and wellbeing activities we do regularly on our English language holidays, from visiting Scottish castles, exploring remote landscapes, visiting galleries and museums, taking a woodland sauna, a yoga class, or a journalling workshop.

The language immersion activities we offer are like the leaves on the branches.
We have our most frequent ones listed on our Activities Page.

Explore Scotland’s landscapes, culture, and heritage while improving in English.

Holiday at a Glance

Our English Amnesty fortnight begins with two power days of awe and inspiration: hiking Ben A’an, riding the Fort William–Mallaig steam train, and soaking in Scotland’s spring light.

There’s no pressure to speak; you begin as a traveller, not a student.
As the week unfolds, conversation flows naturally — and for those who stay a second week, confidence deepens beautifully.

April in Scotland

It can mean temperamental weather, but the unfurling of spring is magical. This month is perfect for warming up at our local woodland sauna. You get the landscapes to yourself as there are few tourists. It’s also the perfect time to enjoy places like the Trossachs or the West coast, as the midges are still dormant.

June in Scotland

June is a good time for visiting gardens and castles. These places get busy over the summer months, but June is still quiet. The Highland Games calendar has started, so you have the option of enjoying the games on most weekends. The gorse on the hillsides glows bright yellow.

September in Scotland

September is warm and lovely, but still green and lush. The mountains bring a cool breeze to warm days, hinting at autumn increasingly as the month progresses. Expect long shadows, wild flowers, the thistles fluffy and the hills purple with flowering heather. It’s the best month to see butterflies and to enjoy campfires by a lochside.

October in Scotland

October can mean temperamental weather, but you can also get lucky enough to sunbathe and wild swim.

As the month progresses, the coolness arrives. It’s a month for enjoying stunning sunsets and clear starry nights that will take your breath away, as well as warming up at our local woodland sauna. It’s a good time to see red squirrels in trees, hear (And see) red deer calling out in the hills and bats in the sky. Pitlochry’s Enchanted Forest, and a steamboat ride through the autumn colours of Loch Katrine are unmissable.

A Few Pointers for Booking

→ We usually run Friday to Friday, but if the dates you have in mind don’t match exactly, please get in touch — we’ll do our best to arrange something around you.

Two-week bookings strongly recommended. It’s not for us — it’s for you. Two weeks gives time for the language transformation to happen.

→ We can never promise good weather. Sometimes there are pleasant surprises, like sunbathing in October. We don’t apologise for the weather. Rain makes Scotland green and full of life.
If rain upsets you, this might not be the right holiday for you.

→ Our holidays are not lessons so much as language practice opportunities. They’re for people who already have the basics (no matter how rusty you may feel). Our weeks work by activating your passive knowledge of English — and we don’t see why you can’t have fun in the process.

→ We compensate for mixed levels with extra 1:1 support.

→  Our holidays have just 3 places per week  (if you find a match, don’t wait!)

→ Our goal is to be the best investment in your future you can make.
Every holiday begins with a short Zoom call before booking — just to check our way is right for you.

English holiday price £1,840 GBP per person per week 2026.

Our holidays are £1,840 GBP per person, per week*, plus £25 per night homestay host accommodation**.

* for our family holidays, kids join for free.

** for our family holidays with 2 adults, we arrange a private apartment at £500 per week.

→ All events and transport around Scotland are included in the price.
